Pan-Fried Spicy Shrimp

Pan-Fried Spicy Shrimp

  • 2 lbs of large or jumbo shrimp, thawed, deveined/deshelled
  • half a stick of butter
  • 1-2 teaspoons of salt
  • 1-2 teaspoons of pepper
  • 1 jalapeno
  • 1 tablespoon of blackening spice
  • 1/2 - 1 teaspoon of ground cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon all italian seasoning
  • 1-2 teaspoons of paprika

Remove the seeds and white veins from the jalapeno, slice it into long slices.  Put the sliced jalapeno into the bowl with the shrimp.

Add the seasoning the shrimp and jalapeno.  Mix it until the shrimp is covered.  At this point you could marinate for an hour, but it's not necessary.

Put the butter in a pan, and turn the heat on to HIGH.  When the butter is fully melted and sizzling, place the shrimp and jalapenos into the pan.  Stir pretty regularly to make sure all sides get cooked.  The cooking time takes about 14 to 15 minutes. At the 10 or 12 minute mark, turn down the heat to low and let it simmer until the liquids reduced.

Serve with buttered noodles and veggie - and enjoy!
