Slow Cooker Chicken Noodle Soup




4 cups of chicken broth
4 cups of water
1 cup of carrots, 
1 cup of celery
1 cup onion
2 bay leaves
1 garlic clove
1 teaspoon dried thyme
4 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 teaspoons of ground black pepper
1 roasting chicken (5 lbs)
4 cups wide egg noodles

Chop the vegetables into bite size pieces.  Place them in your crock pot, with all the ingredients (except for the chicken and noodles).   Mix until it's combined.  Place the roasting chicken on top of the mix, and cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours or on HIGH for 4 to 5.  I did 8.5 hours and it was perfect.  

Once it's done cooking, remove the chicken.  Add the noodles to the pot and let them cook for 20 minutes.  As they are cooking, separate the meat from the bones and skin.  

Serve the soup with a delicious buttered piece of bread.  Enjoy...and feel better ;)

Freeze the leftovers for future need.
